  • Nice loop track that I used to take few years ago. It does take few hours to complete the track and its not suitable for kids if you are doing the stream walk.
  • Such a beautiful track, and done up fantastically to protect the kauri… and now it has been closed…politics at its worst!
  • Beautiful walk! A detonate must see while in Auckland. Beautiful waterfall too!
  • We heard it was a great walk. Parking from horseman's road end wasn't pleasant. Council need to step it up if they want to promote this walk as a must do. Didn't end up going on walk, will try another time. After talking with angry residents about the state of parking.
  • We did a loop track and it took 3h to finish. Became one of my favourite tracks around Auckland:) This long track has lots of slippery spots, so be careful and I recommend to wear hiking boots and bring a towel and socks!! You definitely get wet coz you have to cross some rivers and one of them was around 40cm in depth when I went there.
  • Dangerous as a track, but beautiful.
  • Great walk — lots of trees so good for a hot day. Choice of a loop walk which takes about 2.5 hours or the shorter walk to the falls and back which is about 40min depending on fitness. There are a few hills. You will need decent walking shoes and even more so if the weather has been wet. The track is easy and well signposted.
You need to clean your shoes before and after as there are issues with kauri die back and we want to preserve our kauri trees.
There is a toilet at the entrance but nothing
    … – show
  • Full walk (passed the bridge, includes Mokoroa stream track) took 6 hours at a leisurely pace, 10kms, stream crossings galore so recommend a camelbak, snacks and appropriate foot wear.
  • Primo walkway
  • The track entrance is really good. They have biosecurity kinda thing. When you need to scrub your shoes and then step on a mesh kinda thing to spray you shoes with something, only after that you can open the gate to the track.
The parking is limited here, so try to get early.
The track itself is nice, not really difficult, sometimes dirty and wet though so wear appropriate gear.
  • Great little track:)
  • It’s untouched New Zealand land, what can be better?
  • Terrible.. No parking and u will get a ticket for illegal parking.. Car was damaged in car park. Not a safe place to leave Yr vehicles
  • Respect this unique place. Not much left on planet Earth. Clean your boots BEFORE and AFTER to prevent kauri dieback to spread. And then enjoy the walk — either the simple one directly to the fall or loop knee deep in water, depending on your hiking skills.
  • WALK IS CLOSED
  • One of the most well stoned and maintained tracks. Lots of stairs but worth it to see all the baby Kauris being beautiful. A+ three hours there and back again. Toilet at end of goldie track (bring hand sanitizer....)
  • One of my favourite places…not far from home but has huge payoff. Beautiful walk and place
  • note for the Mokoroa stream track: wear waterproof timberland boots. and learn parkour.
