    Big thanks to Zoe in particular, who served us with an obvious pride in The Lodge. Everything, and I mean EVERYTHING was spectacular. We had drinks, 2 bottles of an excellent Hawkes Bay red and a fabulous dining experience spread over 3+ hours!!

    If you haven't had a meal at The Lodge before now, it's time you did so. It is a wonderful place for a lovely meal, beautifully prepared by obviously very professional Chef's.

    So pleasantly surprised. The Michelin star executive chef and his all-star team made for an absolutely incredible culinary experience. Very much value for money. Perfect for date night or a treat to excite the taste buds. The service team were exceptional.

    Had a late dinner here and it was great. Recipes don’t use excessive ingredients in dishes, and are executed very well. Little garnishes on dishes enhance them and aren’t placed on just for garnish sake. Food tasted great, and the service was excellent, particularly from Summer. Would absolutely go back if we lived locally.

    Our first night in NZ and such a beautiful first impression with fantastic service and even better food. The wine list is local with a lot of lesser known Euro varietals, mid range prices and recommendations from well trained and friendly staff. The Spaghetti Con Pepe tastes like it's straight out of Nona's kitchen and the seafood as fresh as it gets! Thankyou for looking after us, we highly recommend The Lodge!

    Last minute decision to make a reservation was rewarded with nice ambiance, absolutely outstanding service, and a superb meal and wine list. Our meal included the fresh catch of the day (Grouper) and a fresh pasta dish, accompanied by a salad of fresh greens, ricotta and pecorino cheese mixed in a house-made Basil dressing.     The service here is outstanding! We arrived promptly for our booking only to be told we had booked a table in Brisbane not Auckland. Oops. The staff were amazing and accommodated our group of 10.
    The set menu made ordering so simple and the food was fantastic.
    We ordered cocktails and they were superb.

    Our server was terrible. They were cagey about where I could sit despite a mostly empty restaurant. The starter I ordered was ridiculously small and not at all like the description. Our server was rude and kind of condescending. The only reason I gave 2 stars is the location which was quite nice.

      Hi Meg, we apologise you didn't recieve the service you deserved. We usually have seating set aside for reservations, as to why you might have been limited to certain tables.     My son and I had a bite to eat at Gochu, before having lunch here.

    We decided that we would have a couple of plates to share, which was a good decision.

    The service was excellent with one particular waitress.

    We decided on a plate of pork belly and another plate of seafood risotto.

    The risotto dish needed a bit more of a spark up with the flavouring, as it was missing on the taste side.
